Welcome
Nestled in the historic district of Yankton, Webster Elementary School is the proud home to approximately 400 students. The “Webster Winners" consist of students in grades Preschool-5th Grade. A trip down Mulberry Street will guide you to our building with the beautiful Auld-Brokaw trail running on the south side of the school.
Webster Elementary is a one-section school (Kindergarten-5th Grade), which we consider to be our biggest advantage. Whether students have been at Webster for one year or many, the staff is always eager to welcome each child by name. It’s our goal to make every child feel important and welcome, so we like to live by the motto: Webster School---where everybody knows your name! This is very advantageous to the families of Webster, also, as the staff has the opportunity to interact with our parents on a personal level and get to know them all quite well.
In addition to students enrolled in Webster’s Kindergarten-5th Grade, we proudly house Yankton School District’s early childhood classrooms for our 3, 4, and 5 year old children. These children are enrolled in Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten. The district currently has eleven sections of tuition free Preschool and four sections of Jr. Kindergarten due to overwhelming parent support and request. We offer developmentally appropriate programs for early success and foster an environment for superior learning and interactions through rich social environments.
The teachers and staff members at Webster are all highly qualified and eagerly provide not only classroom instruction in the main content areas, but also all the extras, such as: Counseling, Music Education, Physical Education, Title I and Special Education. In addition, we are proudly trained in and implement the OLWEUS Anti-Bullying Program at Webster.
Many refer to Webster Elementary School as Yankton School District’s BEST KEPT SECRET. If you would like to visit our school or have questions, feel free to contact us. The “Webster Winners” are proud of their successes both in and out of the classroom!
Boys Town Educational Model
All Yankton schools use the Boys Town Educational Models as a tool to build positive classroom environments, foster strong teacher-student relationships, and teach social skills necessary for life at school and out in the community.
