Academic excellence for all students is of the highest priority in the Yankton School District. The Yankton School District believes that education is a partnership among the community, parents, students, and school personnel, and high standards are essential for this partnership to be successful. The YSD Curriculum paves the path for the implementation of these high standards. Excellence in academic outcomes rely on the success of our partnership. Committees of teachers and parents review the YSD Curriculum every seven years with the top priority of educating the whole child to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, collaborators, creators, and communicators.

The use of high-quality technology allows our teachers to create wonderful opportunities that increase learner engagement in the classroom. In collaboration and partnership with teachers, we focus on using additional tools and features of our learning management systems, Seesaw and Google Classroom, as well as coding, researching, using library databases, utilizing ClassLink to connect learners with curriculum and supplemental resources, and focusing on other exciting ways to integrate technology into the classroom.
